My Skin Essentials

I was able to attend a product orientation of My Skin Essentials a month ago. I was quite surprised to learn that a fellow Industrial Engineering graduate, Jennifer Rubia-Echano is one of the persons behind this company. It is really interesting to learn that an accident gave birth to this business enterprise. Jenny was looking for products to reduce the visible damage of scarring on her legs from a burn accident and realized that there was none in the market that would suit her needs. So Jenny decided to consult a dermatologist and realized that the best way to solve her problem was to create her own line of skin care products. Jenny and partners then invested in research and formulation of their products. I can only imagine the amount of time, money and dedication they have given to start their own company. It is truly inspiring!

My first impression of their products is that it smells really nice and packaging is really simple. All their products have fruity scents and targets specific skin care problems. I am happy to note that their products does not contain Parabens and other harmful ingredients.

My Skin Essentials currently has five different skin care sets: the Ultra White Facial Set, the Revitalizing Pinkish Glow Facial Set, the Acne Perfecting Facial Set, the Extreme White Underarm Set, and the Ultra White Body Set. Each set is designed to target specific skin problems. All My Skin Essentials products are also available individually.

I will be trying the Ultra White Facial Set and will post product reviews soon. I am not trying to change my skin color, I just want to have an even skin tone and glowing skin ;)

If interested you may visit their store at Door 2, 93 Jacinto Street, Davao City and there are My Skin Essentials personnel who are more than willing to assist you in your skin care needs. You may also check their FB page (My Skin Essentials Phils) and even order online.

The lovely ladies during the orientation.

Hello New Blog!

I really hate to maintain many blogs. I always ignore niches. I just want to have a single blog and jampack everything on it and label my blog as "Personal/Lifestyle Blog". But I think it gets confusing for readers so I finally decided to breakdown my blogs. I have my main blog, my book review blog,my food blog which I co-author with my husband, a film/tv series review blog with nothing on it yet and this brand new spanking Beauty/Fashion wannabe blog.
This is where I will document my beauty product finds, my fashion sense(will get right back at yah once I find it, still busy finding my common sense) and other stuffs related to my Anti-Losyang Campaign. So welcome new Blog...I think it has quite a pretentious name...I AM MORENA! Blah...but I really do want to celebrate my God given skin tone and Filipina Beauty ;)

Human♥Nature: Celebrating Gifts of Passion

Human(heart)Nature manufactures beauty products which are organic and Proudly Pinoy Made. Their company also helps Filipino communities by providing livelihood. Isn't that amazing?  I first heard of Human♥Nature way back in 2009 from an officemate. I didn't need much convincing to try out their products. After trying their bug repellent and shampoo I decided to sign up as a Dealer. Their outlet was quite far from where I lived and my other entrepreneurial activities got me busy so after several months I became an inactive Dealer. I still buy their products though esp. Bug Repellant oil and lotion for my son.
Last Saturday a fellow Blogger/Lawyer/Enterpreneur, Swexie invited me and other bloggers to join the Magalogue turnover for November-December 2012 in Davao City.
They call it Magalogue because it is a Catalogue and Magazine in one. They feature their new products in Magazine format with feature stories, detailed descriptions and tips.
The November-December Magalogue with the theme on Celebrating Gifts of Passion  features the ff. products:

Basic Make Up Workshop

I am not vain about my appearance. In fact I don't give it much thought. What is important to me is basic grooming, looking neat and smelling nice. I do love fashion and accessorizing but I never meddled with make up. Now that I am thirty-ish and a mother I noticed that I became too complacent with my appearance that I fear that I am going to the dark side (read: losyang). Maybe it's fear of looking old and being losyang that I decided to learn more about make up, skin care and beauty what-nots to enhance what God gave me and look best for my husband, my son and most especially for me.
So last Saturday at Yellow Hauz, I joined the Basic Make Up Workshop for Bloggers by Ryan Wong and Noeh Jani who both happen to be my HS batchmates.
I totally forgot about being self conscious because we had a fun and quirky learning session. We were like girls having a sleepover party! ;)

Here are the things I learned from the workshop:
